On Monday December 3rd, freshmen and sophomores had the chance to travel to Fort Hays State University to learn more about the Kansas Academy of Math and Science. KMAS is a program for high achieving high school students who are interested in taking their learning experience a little further. “The trip is important for freshmen and sophomores because they learn if KMAS is a good fit for them. Once they have this information, they can discuss it with their parents and decide if they should apply,” stated Mr. Zachman, the high school counselor. Students who have met the KMAS requirements must apply as a sophomore to attend for their junior and senior year. If a student is accepted into the program, they will live and take classes on the FHSU campus.
